I'm proud to be a customer here. They are a non-profit who helps young adults aging out of foster care or coming from sobriety programs. Their coffee is top-notch, as is their customer service. They serve Starbucks coffee, but their prices are about half of what you would pay at a chain store. I'm never greeted with anything less than a smile and a "Hi Chris!" as soon as I walk in the door and usually it's more. They even have my order ready by the time I walk in the door. I'll never get my coffee anywhere else. Ever.

I came here today to try out a breve and to see what the dilly was on this often overlooked shop on 7th. The place is pretty spacious and well laid out, and they seem to offer the standard types of espresso drinks along with a few types of drip coffee. In addition to this it appeared as though they had a pretty decent hand-held breakfast menu for early morning commuters. They also had a smaller board for sandwiches and a case full of little treats and fruit. The girl who waited on me may have just been incredibly quiet, or having an off day. I wouldn't' go so far as to say she was rude, but perhaps not very personable. I was relatively satisfied with my coffee; had a decent amount of foam, but it did not compare to my first joy of breve at Nina's. As I pulled away from this shop I noticed the writing on my cup "we proudly brew starbucks coffee." Ah well.

Best Baristas Ever! Fresh Grounds has a great nonprofit focus and a wonderful food menu. I love going here any time of day... the menu is very reasonably priced and it has one of the calmer, friendlier atmospheres of other coffee shops in the Twin Cities. The staff are very approachable with a great daily music selection so it's easy to become a regular here. I would recommend getting one of their delicious waffles (Annie's oatmeal is my favorite) or try a giraffe - their version of a caramel mocha. Although I may need to switch to decaf giraffes. Their coffee/espresso is STRONG. Not watered down like some chain coffee shops. All drinks are available hot or iced. Grasshopper blended drink is good, too. The only negative thing I have to say about Fresh Grounds is that I wish they were open later than 5.

Stellar! This place is the pride and joy of West St. Paul. I volunteer over in that vicinity, and had never been able to find good coffee or food around there without going way up Roberts St. The place is solar powered, has reconstituted wood for the tables and bookcases, and is generally just a great atmosphere. The service was amazing! Quick and super friendly.

I was excited to go here, love the area but than got here and well what a disappointment. We ordered a Breve and a Turtle Mocha for in house and got to go Starbucks cups. Low and behold this place proudly brews Starbucks coffee, if I wanted Starbucks I would have went to Starbucks. We ordered overpriced food that tasted like they were proudly serving Holiday gas station food. We waited 20 minutes for soup that was warmed up for two minutes in the microwave... But on one positive note because we ordered soup and the server/cook forgot about it he gave us a free coffee on the house. Overall great area, coffee was mediocre, the food was disappointing, the atmosphere was okay and the floors were dirty. I think the two gentlemen working were sweet and friendly but the quality of the actual place is below average. To avoid coming back into this place, we used our One Free Coffee Card before we left. You will not be missed, Fresh Grounds. So sad...

I love this place! The food is good, coffee is good, service is great. I can't believe it's not packed all of the time! The fact that it's a nonprofit, makes you want to stop in more often. I highly recommend Fresh Grounds.

I enjoyed a latte, muffin, the service, atmosphere, and other customers (honestly everyone was smiling). I would stop again.

This is my favorite coffee shop in the world, and lucky me it's within walking distance from my house! They have great food and coffee (try an almond joy mocha, they're delicious) and all the profits go back into the work they do with young adults, so you can feel good about your coffee habit. They also started selling Sebastian Joe's ice cream-just in case you needed an extra push to check it out!

As a guy that experiences unfair prejudice in the twin cities at times I love the fact the employees here are friendly and courteous; and the wifi is fairly efficient at the least.

I stopped here to kill time before a hair appointment, and was immediately impressed. Open layout, large tables, a few comfy couches, excellent iced mocha, off street parking, and free wifi. I was surprised that the place was so quiet -- no street noise despite being on West 7th. The only drawback is that they close a little early in my opinion - 7 PM over the summer. I'll be back.

Fresh Grounds earns high marks because what they do for our community. Fresh Grounds takes people with troubled pasts and gives them the opportunity to work. Starbuck's donates the equipment and the coffee. The Mississippi Market provides fresh quality produce at a discount. At the head of this ship is Anne, one of the most lovely people I know, and is also is highly experienced in the food industry, she also started a very successful coffee shop, Anodyne in Mpls. I recommend stopping in for the breakfast or lunch. This is a great place to bring a friend.
